7 Basic Network Marketing Skills To Perfect In Order To Make It To The Top

There is a a process that needs to be perfected in order to call yourself a true network marketing master. Though we may not be “masters” at every single thing on this list yet, we know they are important in building our business, so we invest in ourselves to perfect each and every one.

Because we understand the importance and are willing to do whatever it takes to become the best, we do consider ourselves qualified to teach this process to others. You’ll know you’ve mastered a skill set, when you can effectively teach it to someone else. 🙂

Here is a list of 7 basic network marketing skills that one needs to perfect in order to make it to the top!

#1- Finding Prospects

It’s funny how some people claim to have amnesia and “don’t know anybody” the second we tell them to start their database. People are everywhere! Which means prospects are everywhere.

With that said, there are many different places you can look to find prospects that are ready to run with you in your opportunity.

All in all, be a friend to people. Build trust. Stop hunting and start serving.

#2- Inviting

#3- Presenting

Make sure you’re having an entrepreneurial conversation with your prospect. It’s surprising to us just how many people don’t know how to present their opportunity at all, not to mention in an effective way. We’ve come across so many people that think that simply posting their products on their Facebook page counts as presenting and showing people their opportunity.

Hate to break it to you… but it doesn’t! And it’s probably the #1 reason you aren’t getting the results or success you want.

Because we’re very passionate about this, and know this could be a huge breakthrough for anyone’s business, we’ve been inspired to do a Free LIVE webinar training. The details of this training are still TBA, but we do know seating will be limited. So if you’re interested in learning how to present your opportunity in an effective way, getting you bigger, better, and faster results, shoot us a message on Facebook, send us an email, or give us a call to claim your spot! We’ll keep everyone up to date on our Facebook Fan Page and email list as soon as we know the date and time for this training.

Follow Up 2 - USE

#4- Follow Up

The fortune is in the follow up!

The one that wants the volume needs to take it upon themselves to follow up with everyone they talk to. If we go and do a meeting with someone in our down line, we get the prospects number and give them a call in 24 to 48 hours to answer any other questions they may have or resolve any other concerns.

We want the volume, so we follow up, regardless of who it is.

For those that aren’t interested in joining us right then, we keep them in the loop and follow up every 3 to 6 months. Eventually, their situation may change to where it’s better timing for them to hop on board with us, so we want to keep our opportunity at the front of their minds.

#5- Resolving Concerns

This step seems to be a big one that holds a lot of people up. Whit and I are different from what many people may teach you. If someone has a laundry list of concerns, we don’t even bother with them.

If they continue with excuse after excuse, or concern after concern, as to why they can’t do the business or try the product, then they really aren’t interested and it’s better for all of us to not push it.

However, if someone’s concerns are legitimate, it’s easy to move them forward and walk them through the process of making a decision on whether this is for them, because once the concern is resolved, they have no reason to say no.

We’re able to resolve a lot of concerns during our presentation. So claiming a spot on our live training would be beneficial to anyone that has a problem with people giving them a list of concerns or excuses.

#6- Closing

#7- Getting People Started

There seems to be a giant black hole between a prospect enrolling and that prospect being a permanent member to your team. Some people go into the witness protection program the day after they enroll, while some last upwards of 90 days. This is why it’s important to start everyone the same and quickly get them making money.

Don’t let a lot of time go in between people getting enrolled and putting your opportunity in front of their friends. You’ve only got between a 24 and 48 hour window to get some results happening for your new rep. After that, buyers remorse sets in and the newbie starts to get cold feet.

Get your new rep started in money making behavior immediately by taking actions that make them money. Phone calls and inviting – Meetings – Enrolling New Reps and Customers. Worry about the little technicalities after they have a few invites under their belt and are learning to present.

Above all, make sure anything and everything you teach them is duplicable. If it does not duplicate, don’t do it, whether it works or not.

#8- Promoting Events

Events are like a prospects baptism into network marketing. I think back to our first event and the emotions that washed over Cari and I as we fully grasped the concept of this amazing industry and what it could provide for our family.

We watched people hit the top rank of our company, saw people cross stage that had built their business to where we wanted, and they were no different than us. (Some people honestly made us think “If THEY can do it, we definitely can do it! LOL)

If you can promote events, and get butts in seats at these events, you’ll make a fortune in this industry. It’s a lot more effective to have your new reps get training from other people that are having success in your company than from you.

So hammer events into everyone and build from event to event. We even promote events to prospects. Attending events is part of our proven system to get people to the top of the company. It’s easier to promote an event from the beginning than drop it on them later.

Everyone knows we are attending the next event no matter when or where it is and it’s expected of them to be there too.

It’s time to walk away from amateur and step into greatness. You were meant to live a life of abundance! Creating the life you dream of is simple. Notice I didn’t say easy…  It’s going to take some time to perfect these skills, but it is worth it to climb the ranks and bless people’s lives along the way.
